One Response to World Asthma Day – Tuesday 3 May, 2011

  1. My name is Al Keith. I am a respiratory therapist of 24 years and a musician of 44 years with two passions, asthma education for patients/family and music. I have combined the two passions into one, with the result being “Asthma Blues” “Asthma Blues” is the innovative asthma education music CD and book that delivers evidence-based clinical concepts and key messages for asthma management. Asthma control, identification of asthma triggers, purpose and proper delivery of relief and controller medication, purpose and use of a peak flow meter, and the importance of a written asthma action plan to guide self-management are some of the clinical messages delivered in songs of popular musical genres such as Blues, Country & Western, Hip-Hop, Reggae, R&B, and Rock & Roll. Designed to apply the science of music and learning, the “Asthma Blues” CD and book effectively deliver asthma management concepts that can improve asthma outcomes and create a win-win environment for both patients and clinicians/educators. You can view the “Asthma Blues” video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htuBryG5JXg, and visit our updated website, http://www.ctkclinical.com, to learn more and listen to the music from “Asthma Blues”. Feel free to to share the links with colleagues as you prepare for your World Asthma Day event. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
