Tomorrow, Tuesday 15 November, Prostate Action are teaming up with ITV’s This Morning, and resident GP Dr Chris Steele, to hold the first ever live prostate examination in order to help raise awareness of men’s health and prostate cancer.

Dr Jon Rees, a GP from Somerset, and expert in the talkhealth/NHS Choices online clinic on prostate disease, in association with Prostate Action and the Bob Champion Cancer Trust, will perform Digital Rectal Examinations (DRE) on 30 volunteers throughout the show and discussing why all men should be aware of the signs and symptoms of prostate disease.

Prostate Action, who advised the show’s producers as they put the programme together, also provided This Morning with anatomically accurate prosthetic replicas, which Dr Rees will use to demonstrate in detail how the DRE is performed.
