Recent research has led to a shift in the way experts think about exposing babies to foods that may lead to allergic reactions such as peanuts.

Until now mothers have been told to avoid high risk foods whilst pregnant and breast feeding. However studies now suggest that the best way to prevent allergies is to expose the child to these foods during infancy.

Current advice is that you shouldn’t feel guilty regardless of which option you choose as there simply isn’t enough evidence to make a well educated decision.

There are 3 large studies being conducted in the UK and USA to determine which option is best. However for now, at least, the jury’s out!

What would you choose? Cocoon your child or expose them to high risk foods?
