Now I’m very old school when it comes to diet and exercise. I believe in eating sensibly and move as much as you can . So when I started to read up on these new super pants that help you sweat and reduce your wobbly bits, I was rather sceptical. But as the saying goes “don’t knock it until your tried it” I did indeed decide to give them a go and reserve judgement. Well what did I have to lose, apart from inches, after all?! So when my Zaggora Hot Pants (a short and long pair) arrived in the post, I tried to keep an open mind. The short pair looked a bit like a pair of cycling shorts more than hot pants and felt like a wet suit. The manufacturer claims they are designed to burn the adipose (fat) cells that cause cellulite around the thighs and bottom area and if they are worn during exercise, I will feel a drop in my jean size. In the first week, I wore them to every class I attended at my gym. I went to body combat, pilates, jogging, body pump, body conditioning, circuits and boxing.

And I have to admit that after initially putting them on, they were very comfortable and I would forget I even had them on. Even though they are so figure hugging and keep me all in, I never felt the sweat while I was working out. It was only when I took them off that I realised that I was soaked – right the way through to my knickers which were drenched!

It made me realise just how much I was actually sweating. A sign that the hot pants were indeed working. The next week, it was really cold and snowing so I found myself wearing the longer version of them out to town, just to keep warm. As I wasn’t putting myself through vigorous exercise, I didn’t think they would have the same sweating effect as when I was put through my paces at the gym. But when I went to the loo, I realised that they were indeed still working because again my knickers were soaked through! However, it was uncomfortable pulling them up again and having to walk around for another couple of hours before heading home to shower and change, was not pleasant. Still I guess it felt good to know that the hot pants were working even when worn during low aerobic activity such as walking.

One of the problems I had with the pants was that I had to hand wash them which meant I had to wash them every time I wore them and hang them out to try. The other problem I had with them was that although they are very smart looking to wear, I did have to hoist them over my tummy area, which resulted in making that area look physically bulky because of the thickness of the material. I don’t often wear my shorts that high up so they did feel a bit weird and although I know I am not thick around the waist, I felt a wee bit conscious of this. On the positive side, when I slipped into my jeans two weeks later, I honestly felt them loose around my thighs and bottom area. And although I don’t have cellulite, (not sure whether that’s down to my Asian skin?)  my legs definitely felt smoother. So yes, even though I continued to eat well and exercise throughout the whole time I wore the hot pants, the added bonus was feeling a lot more slimmer around thigh and bottom area. Overall I am pleased with my new Zaggora Hot Pants and I will most certainly be wearing them in the future – just not walking around in them in town!
