Goodness me – what a day yesterday was…apologies for the lack of blog post, but I didn’t get home until nearly midnight and would not at all have been coherent enough to type…tired doesn’t quite describe it!

In all of the excitement of getting to the stables early to prepare for the arrival of my lovely ladies, I stupidly forgot to take my diabetes medicine…so I was a bit wibbly and it didn’t help that I was trying to keep going from 7am until midnight!

Anyway, you don’t want to hear about that – you want to hear about Jessie and the ladies…

I was up before 7am for a shower and after quickly getting ready – which involved me running to my sisters house so that she could help me put my hair up…yes, I am 32 years old and still cannot ‘do’ my own hair – I am not a girly girl and feel more at ease in a field full of horse poo than in a department store! My other half loaded the car with the goodie bags and food supplies and we then headed off to the yard.

My Mum was already there and had put my little Shetland pony back in the field as he had escaped in the night! We had his little ‘presents’ (i.e. piles of poop!) to clear up quickly before the ladies began to arrive. As they did, I was chatting with them and swapping weight loss war stories and just generally getting to know each other. They were a lovely bunch. One hardcore gym goer – who had been to the gym before heading to me – arrived just as I was leaving to collect Jill and Jessie, so unfortunately we didn’t get much of a chance to chat…but she is going to the Pavelka Day on Saturday, so I hope to get a chance to speak with her then!

Once I had collected the stars of the show, I made a quick detour to my Slimming World group and discovered that I had lost 4.5lbs this week and got this…

20130904-192445.jpgIt was 3.5lbs before I took my shoes off! I normally weigh without shoes, but had put some on for yesterday’s event that are difficult for me to get on and off…but as I was nearing a tantrum – as I needed an extra 0.5lbs off for my award – I took them off and it meant an extra 1lb off. I think that I surprised my consultant, as Jessie wanted a coffee and so popped into group whilst I weighed in. One lady in group – who is lovely – was speechless and had her photo taken with him…whilst Pizza Lady thought that he was my husband and had him cornered…she said to him, “What are you?”, and, “Well, you’re not English!”…it was shortly after this that I rescued him!

It was then across town to the waiting ladies…and my niece who had snuck in for a picture! Although she got incredibly shy and didn’t really play ball when the camera was out. The ladies all got pictures and then we began.

The session started with a few laps of my field – complete with horse poop minefields. My Mum and other half headed off to collect the jacket potato orders whilst the ladies walked and talked. Jessie then took them through some exercises and they all looked as if they were having fun…albeit sweaty fun! After this we had a visualisation exercise which went really well – again, Jessie talked about not letting other people have your power…something which I can be guilty of and something which I am working on.

We then grabbed our food and had a chat whilst Jessie worked his magic during the 1:1 sessions. They were lots of smiling faces and lightbulb moments I think. We then sat and had a chat as a group before wrapping up with more photos and hugs.

My niece then got a nice surprise when Jessie turned up at her house whilst she was having some craft time! We needed a comfort break before heading off to Stockport and Jessie needed to change clothes. She wasn’t as shy this time and gave him a big hug…and apparently spent the afternoon with a grin on her face. I also came away with a present…

20130904-193532.jpgIt meant that I was covered in glitter…and so was Jessie…but a bit of sparkle is always good!

It was then a mad dash to get to Stockport – during which Jessie and Jill managed to grab some sleep. Chris – aka Fitness Frenzi Chris…or Chris Zumba as Jill calls him – has christened Jessie, ‘Princess Tamagotchi’ as he sleeps and just wakes up for food and the toilet and for some TLC! It was a really good day…followed by a great event in the evening.

So last night saw me witnessing queues of people waiting for a hug and a photo with Jessie. It was a bit surreal really. I have hidden away for so long and there I was in a room with over a hundred people…all of whom wanted to see Jessie who had just been sleeping in my car…a weirder day than usual in the world of Weight Loss Bitch! I managed okay at the event…although I had to duck out of the big room where the Q&A session took place. The room was really hot – sauna hot – and the seats were all full…this, combined with my diabetes tablet forgetfulness meant that I was feeling really lightheaded. So I ducked out and went back into the signing room and ended up chatting to a couple of lovely personal trainers from Elite Fitness.

They were quite funny guys actually! We chatted about my weight, and that I wanted to find a decent trainer locally…and we also came up with an idea for a new reality weight loss show too…it was a productive chat! ;-) On a serious note, we discussed the quick fix options and they said how frustrating it can be to see people spending thousands on surgery and shakes when they know they could help people for half the price. And also they spoke of their frustration at the effects of quick fixes – to only on the body, but on the mind too…so it just reinforced for me that healthy eating and exercise really is the only way forward.

I then watched more signings and spoke to people who were interested in working with HOOP which is fabulous news, and got to speak to the HOOP crew too which was fab! I also got to meet Jeni and Sarah from Fat: the fight of my life – they were both lovely and it was obvious that they had a great bond with Jessie…they both said that he really cares…and this was evident from his behaviour at my events. Nothing was a problem for him and he went out of his way to make people feel comfortable…a true gent and a real inspiration.

Anyway – I will stop waxing lyrical soon, I promise!

I couldn’t make it to the after event meal. I was shattered and feeling woozy from the tablets – or lack of tablets – so I decided to head home. I must admit that this annoyed me…I wanted to meet the personal challenge of doing that…but I think that I have achieved a lot this week and a meal in a posh hotel is nothing compared to what I have done. Plus…how can I possibly have synned prosciutto wrapped asparagus and relish?! ;-) I settled for a packet of chicken and some fruit eaten in Freddie in a carpark…far more my style. :-)

So there we have it then – the second Jessie update. I have had a great time, met some wonderful people whom I hope to meet a number of times again…and I have been inspired by each and every one of them. I also ended up with some lovely gifts including some orzo – thanks Em – and some lovely flowers too!

20130904-200003.jpgI managed to pick up a lovely little unicorn in a Rainbow Brite stylee – from the incredibly creative Liz…

20130904-200136.jpgHe is going to be my little weight loss unicorn and has pride of place in Freddie Freelander…I reckon that having him there will remind me to avoid all drive thrus! ;-)

Today has been so sedate it is untrue. I fell into bed last night and didn’t really want to get out of it, but was up for some project work this morning before heading to see the horses and head to the shops. I tried to grab a little bit of sleep this afternoon, but my neighbours yampy dog had other ideas. Tonight will involve a bit of Jack Bauer I think.

Right then – I will love you and leave you all with the foodie usuals…

Yesterday’s food…

Breakfast: Banana.

20130904-175154.jpgLunch: Cottage cheese and baked bean jacket potato.

20130904-175305.jpgDinner: Chicken, watermelon, banana, Babybels (1 x HEA) and a handful of Special K crisps (3 syns) – I didn’t get a picture of this as my sister and I ate it in a car park of a supermarket in the dark! :-) It was a tough day in terms of food as I was so busy…I stayed on track but didn’t really get a proper feed!

Today’s food…

Breakfast: Strawberries, banana and grapes.

20130904-174738.jpgLunch: Two Quorn burgers, packed with salad (2 x HEA and 2 x HEB).

20130904-174826.jpgDinner: Quorn keema curry with rice.

20130904-192005.jpgSnacks: Eat Natural bar (11.5 syns) and Nakd raisins (3.5 syns).

20130904-192124.jpgToday’s food has been absolutely immense. My brekkie was lovely and fresh, and that was followed by epic Quorn burgers stuffed with salad – they are seriously good and setter me away from any thoughts of Burger King or McDonalds that I may have been harbouring! Dinner was a keema curry made with Quorn mince, garlic, curry powder, some veggie stock, tomato purée, chopped tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, peas, onions and peppers. This was then mixed with some veggie rice…it was gorgeous – and I have lunch leftovers from tomorrow! The raisins are lovely and the Eat Natural bar was gorgeous too. If you know of anyone who thinks that dieting and losing weight equals deprivation…show them my food and set them straight! ;-)

Thank you for reading…I hope that HumpDay has been good to you!

Weight Loss Bitch xxx

WeightLossBitch

On a health and fitness driven journey to lose over 32st / 448lbs / 203kgs – yes, it is a considerable amount – I am committed to losing my excess weight without the aid of weight loss surgery, diet pills, or quick fixes…as there aren’t any! Changing my eating habits and building up my fitness levels, along with addressing the ‘head issues’ will be crucial in order for me to achieve my goal. Living in England as a 31 year old super morbidly obese woman can be challenging to say the least. I have been shouted at in the street and verbally abused far too many times to mention; hence the name ‘Weight Loss Bitch’…the day I am just called a ‘bitch’ instead of a ‘fat bitch’ will be the day that I know I have cracked my weight loss! With many reasons to lose this weight I am documenting my journey for a number of reasons. Firstly, I would like to keep a record of the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the challenges I face with such an enormous task to tackle. Secondly, I would also like to inspire and encourage other people who are in a similar situation and to show them that significant amounts of weight can be lost naturally…with a bit of motivation, hard work, dedication and will power. Thirdly, all of the blogging, Facebook-ing, Tweet-ing, Pinterest-ing and YouTube-ing keeps me occupied and keeps my fingers out of the fridge!

One Response to Jessie P – Part Two!
