I try to complete a post once per month but this month has been hectic! However I did have time to whip up this post which has some good articles that I came across via twitter in October so I am sharing them now. Hope you find something of interest; there is information on gut bacteria, gluten & FODMAPs, NCGS (Non Coeliac Gluten Sensitivity), constipation and a great resource from the IBS network………
Gut bacteria and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) are are clearly linked and hopefully future research will shed more light on this interesting topic. This article gives a nice overview of ‘The Ins and Outs of Gut Bacteria’

I found this website called Lets Talk Constipation while searching the net for information on constipation (obviously!) and I like the diagram which tries to answer the question: Do you know what happens to your digestive system when you get constipated?

There has been a lot of interest into whether gluten or FODMAPs are involved in the gastrointestinal symptoms people experience with IBS. This article gives an overview of some of the recent research and provides links for further reading on this subject.

After 20 years of varied and disruptive IBS problems I have been put on the FODMAP plan and have high hopes for success. Thanks for this excellent blog. I am reading through the links with interest and am delighted to find some recipies that may make family life and communal mealtimes a bit more fun and rather less difficult!
