The Wonderful Internet:
The Internet is a wonderful thing and it can provide loads of helpful information, but what happens when all of sudden you have a new symptom and the Internet can give you all of the potential causes, and 80% of them are terrifying?

Found It:
See that is kind of how I feel about the Internet right now.  The past two nights I have developed a mystery symptom that I’ve never had before.  So what did I do? I did what any reasonable person would do, I googled it.  And guess what, there is so much information on the internet about my symptoms, it even has a distinct name.  Great, right!? I mean now I know what my symptom is called.  And then I started looking at the cases of my symptom…

Found Some More…:
Yup, the possibility of having any of these causes is not so good.  But on the bright side, I’m now an expert on my symptom because I’ve spent an unnecessary amount of time researching it on the Internet. If you didn’t catch that, I was being sarcastic. There really is such a thing as too much information, especially since I have no clue if any of these causes is actually the cause.

Fun fact: the consumption of too much information on the Internet is known as Infobesity!

Found a little Too Much:
I literally have to stop myself from continuing to google and trying to diagnose myself.  However, the truth is that I can’t diagnosis it myself, I am going to have to wait to be assessed by a doctor.  Patience is definitely not my strong point, so this is difficult for me.  But even if my symptoms match up predictively, that doesn’t mean I have figured out the cause. So for now I wait and keep myself off the Internet, in my not so normal life.
