As a sufferer of Anxiety my whole life, I have learned and practiced some affective strategies that have enabled me to overcome the fear-based personality that was once stopping me from living a happy and free life, and reaching my highest potentials. I want to share the mental and nutritional strategies I continue to use that have brought me freedom and happiness. You will be able to incorporate these too.
?
What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a mental state where the brain thinks it is in fight or fright mode. It can be the result of negative learned behaviour in upbringing or can develop as the result of sudden environmental stress or trauma. If left untreated, it can develop into mental health problems like depression and forms of PTSD.
?
How it can also affect your physical health?
Like many other mental illnesses, anxiety can also cause physical symptoms to the body; such as rapid heart-beat, palpitations, chest pain, headaches, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
?
What does anxiety feel like?
- Excessive worry
- Feeling agitated
- Restlessness
- Fatigue
- Difficulty concentrating
- Irritability
- Tense muscles
- Trouble falling or staying asleep
- Panic attacks
- Avoiding social situations
- Irrational fears

Things you can implement now to begin reducing the causes and symptoms of anxiety & stress.
Reduce the stress on yourself by using a diary. Noting down things you need to remember will reduce pressure on yourself to keep these in your head, and leave you feeling freer to enjoy your day. Also use it to journal any feelings and symptoms, as a way to support you through your healing process.
.
? Instil healthy lifestyle habits starting with sleep. Get to bed early on a regular basis, eat your last meal a few hours before bed so your body doesn’t need to finish digestesting. Try drinking camomile and calming herbs to induce sleepiness.
.
? Also turn off gadgets a few hours before and change white light to orange light to induce the sleep hormone – Melatonin.
.
? Eat a healthy diet that suits your body type and requirements; with foods that evoke energy and Serotonin production. Adaptogens are especially effective to support the body’s reaction through stress. They help the body to adapt.
.
?Reduce toxins like alcohol, smoking, fried foods. These are harmful to the body.
.
? Meditation supports the mind to let go, which calms the release of Adrenalin and stress hormones.
? Exercise raises Endorphins and strengthens the respiratory system (energy production).
.
? Micro-dosing with Magic Mushrooms, can help you to let go and feel free and happy. It does this by supporting you to release your pre-frontal cortex. This has supported me to train my brain to feel more positive at all times. With the correct knowledge and preparation, this may help you too.

Glad you found it helpful and that you’re able to start implementing something now ?
My clients and myself included, have found it helpful to incorporate one small positive change to our lifestyles weekly. After a year or so, you will be able to look back and see how far you’ve come, as all of the small changes you’ve made direct you into a whole new you without even realising it ???
on August 16, 2019 at 8:41 am Helen BarnshawA useful blog for me, ive just joined talkhealth and am hoping to get advice and maybe chat to others with anxiety and depression… ive suffered for many years and apart from me doctor giving me medication ive never really had any help… i do drink a bit at weekends and smoke and i know its bad for me health, but it just takes the edge off my worries sometimes. on August 15, 2019 at 2:57 pm AnitaHi Anita
Glad you found this useful.
You’re not alone. Everyone suffers from some form of anxiety whether large of small. It depends on how much it affects your lifestyle and happiness, and to know when and how to intervene to with mind.
I found it helpful to start with one small change daily/weekly, like starting a 5 minute morning meditation practice to call my mind and help me focus on the day ahead. I used medication temporarily whilst I was finding more natural tonics and herbs to support me.
There are so many things you can incorporate to begging reducing your anxiety now, and I found meditation and magic mushrooms to be the most powerful mind clearing and rebuilding resources, to date.
I know that meditation has also been influential for most of my clients in helping them to make their new habits stick for the long term.
