Some cancer survivors are living nearly six times longer than 40 years ago. However whilst some cancers such as breast, bladder and colon have shown vast improvements others including lung and stomach have shown a lack of progress.

It is believed that future focus should now be on improving survival rates for these types of cancers and improving the health of survivors who have received treatment for cancer where further problems such as fatigue, infertility and organ damage have been caused.
