The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) have rejected 3 bowel cancer drugs over concerns of cost effectiveness.

Chief Executive Andrew Dillon said “We have to be confident that the benefits that drugs offer patients really do justify what the NHS will have to pay for them.

“The independent appraisal committee which drafted the recommendations does not feel it has enough evidence to feel confident in recommending these drugs for use on the NHS.”

How do you feel about drugs being rejected because of money? Is it right that rational decisions are made on matters such as this or does everyone deserve the right to treatment that may work for them?
