But that’s not going to happen is it!!! I’m up and down with my enthusiasm to lose weight. I want to stick to a sensible diet most of the time but it’s a long hard slog! Still lost my initial 8 pounds (ish) but it’s taken months and I’m getting dis-heartened. Trouble is I go off the boil when it doesn’t happen fast enough!
I’m still not really exercising and I think that’s the key. Dieting in isolation doesn’t work and excerising in isolation doesn’t work either – clearly the two have to go together. But I keep moaning that I can’t find the time to exercise. But I need to MAKE time. Weather is better, nights are lighter so there’s really no excuse to go for a brisk walk each evening before dinner. Perhaps tonight’s the night to start!
I know I won’t wake up tomorrow thin, but I could wake up a little thinner each day, even a few ounces each day would be good as this would result in a leaner, slimmer me eventually.
So, if any of you out there have any tips, words of encouragement or otherwise, let me know! I need all the help I can get at the moment!!
Hi Deb,
I think you need to have a 5-10min HIT session! High Intensity Training.
frankly you need to “Smash” your exercies for a short period of time! every day!
i know you dont have time on your side so 5-10 mins will have to do so you have to up your intensity… if your at the gym shoot for 30 minutes no more! do 10minutes of boxing Hitting someone will instantly made you feel better!!
then do light weights but lots of reps, try 30 seconds of each exercise.
2 exercises for arms,
2 for legs,
2 for back,
1 for chest.
repeat 2 or 3 times. NO REST BETWEEN EXERCISES! Rest after you have finished all exercises for no more than 2 minutes.
stretch and home! no reward of wine or cake!
I wish is was only in Bstoke still id pop over with teh gloves and pads and you could hit me!!

on March 13, 2012 at 4:40 pm MarkThanks for the advice – I wish you were in Basingstoke too as you’d be the motivation I need as there would be no excuses and no hiding! I will take on board the idea of short burst of HIT exercise as that’s probably a better fit with timings for me. Have you heard of The Gym Group? No frills, budget gym chain and one opening in B’stoke in Aug – I will be joining as at cĀ£15 per month it’s a no brainer!!
