Introductory blog

3 Apr 2012

My name is Galin Cleary and I am a Chiropractor.  This is my first blog for talkhealth and I am very excited to be joining the team.

I thought I’d start with my journey into Chiropractic.  I initially did an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science in Nottingham.  On finishing this qualification I was inspired by Chiropractic and applied to Surrey University for the Masters degree in Chiropractic.

Since my graduation in 2003 I have worked in Fleet, Hampshire and have worked hard to build my practice into a busy family friendly community practice.

In 2008 I opened a second clinic in Farnham, Surrey.  This is more of a holistic centre with many practitioners other than our chiropractors such as acupuncturists, podiatrist, sports therapists and hypnotherapists.  I have found managing the 2 branches challenging but extremely rewarding.

Regarding chiropractic I am very focused in patient education and preventative care. Areas that are of particular interest for me include the treatment of headaches, chiropractic care during pregnancy, the treatment of babies and children and SOT (Sacro-occipital technique). I recently completed a course in western acupuncture conducted by the British Medical Acupuncture Council and I am always building on my SOT knowledge (my goal is to eventually complete the SOT exams).

It is important to see each patient as a unique individual, to educate, examine and diagnose with the highest standard of care and professionalism, providing successful chiropractic treatment and rehabilitation advice, appropriate for their lifestyle.

I am registered with:
General Chiropractic Council,
British Chiropractic Association
College of Chiropractors.
European Chiropractors Union
Sacro-Occipital Technique Organisation (SOTO Europe)
Registered AXA and BUPA Chiropractor

If you suffer with any musculoskeletal complaints I hope by following my future blogs you may get the advice needed. Please feel free to ask any questions.
