Flippin hay fever!

Well, it’s here. It’s arrived with avengeance …. this flippin hay fever!

Thought I’d got off lightly this year as the weather has been so awful and I’ve not needed to take any medication. And, given I’m allergic to tree pollen and most trees are out in bloom, I had hoped I’d got away with it. But no! No way! This lovely sunny weather has brought out my hay fever symptoms – it’s the devil and the deep blue sea scenario. If I have the doors and windows closed I get hot and sticky but my symptoms are OK(ish), but if I have the doors and windows open, I’m cool but the symptoms are strong – itchy eyes, very runny nose, blocked nose etc etc. If you live with hay fever then you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about.

I came across this really helpful Pollen Calendar from the UK Met Office. I picked up some interesting facts about hay fever that I didnt’ know. I didn’t know for example, why drinking alcohol can make hay fever symptoms worse! But I do now.

Take a look at the Pollen Calendar here. You may learn something you didn’t know, and if you don’t at least you can check out the pollen count!!

As for the weight loss …. well started Zumba which is helping but need to get my head around the foody bit. Will report back in due course.

Enjoy the sun, don’t get burnt and hope the hay fever doesn’t get you down too much!
