The Health Protection Agency has announced that there has been a 2% increase in the number of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in England.

There are now nearly 427,000 cases of STI’s with the biggest increase in gonorrhoea.

Experts are concerned that not enough people are getting tested, especially for chlamydia. There was a 4% drop in the numbers of chlamydia cases but it is believed that this is because fewer people are getting screened.
