Calls for needle exchange programme for gym usersThe National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has called for needle exchanges to be established in gyms in order to battle the issue of sharing needles to inject performance-enhancing drugs and cosmetic products.

Despite a decrease in new HIV and hepatitis B cases recently, transmission of the hepatitis C virus is increasing – with nearly half of injecting drug users testing positive.
