How can I help?

I don't have eczema and I have never had it so I have no idea what it's like. But my boyfriend does and he really is struggling with it at the minute. He's started having flare ups, which have never happened before, even though he is on a wheat free diet and has cut out other foods. It gets him down and I feel really helpless. I don't know what to do apart from try to comfort him, which sometimes doesn't work. I wish there was something i could do to try and ease the pain for him but nothing seems to work. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks:)

Re: How can I help?

Hi there!

Hugs! Allergy testing? Also help him check the products he's using to make sure there's no top irritants. Encourage to moisturize - maybe help him with it? :)
See a dermatologist too!

Re: How can I help?

Thanks for your reply!:) He's doing all those things and he's finding it hard to work out what his triggers are. He's cut out a lot of foods and even that hasn't worked. Do you know of any natural home remedies? Any suggestions are helpful!

Re: How can I help?

Hi!

Has he taken a skin prick test or IgE blood test. Recommend he go for these tests instead of ownself trying to figure. Certain allergens like house dust mite can mislead patients to think it's food etc cos they are always present and sometimes when it flares, patients tend to link with what they can see/know they have eaten. Food isn't that common an allergen for adults, vs environmental triggers. Do get the test at the hospital/clinic where he can also see a specialist. Don't think natural therapy is going to work that soon, esp. as the skin is pretty bad as your described with the pain.

take care,
Mei
