Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, usually caused by a bladder infection. It’s a common type of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Cystitis can be painful and can cause sufferers to feel generally low and unwell. Symptoms can include a burning or stinging sensation while urinating, passing urine frequently or the urge to, and pain in your lower tummy (abdomen). Women are 30 times more likely to get cystitis, and one in five women will suffer from recurrent cystitis.
