Exercise (72.6%) was the most popular way that people are planning to use to lose their weight followed by more controlled portion sizes and will power.

Other suggestions included cutting out on snacking, calorie counting, reducing the amount of sugary food they ate and eating more fruit and vegetables.

Weight Watchers and Slimming World are the most popular diets that people are planning to undertake with most of them following their diet plans online.

Of those who were giving up certain food types or drinks, 47.5% were going to find chocolate the hardest thing to give up.  Followed by bread, cakes, crisps and nuts.
