Prostate Action is the only national charity dedicated to beating all three prostate diseases

The Bob Champion Cancer Trust was established after Bob Champion was diagnosed with cancer in two parts of his body at the height of his riding career. The interest and enthusiasm generated by racing’s greatest fairytale led to the foundation of the Bob Champion Cancer Trust in 1983. Since then the Trust has raised in excess of 12 million pounds. The achievements of the Trust and its work into testicular and prostate cancer continue to give hope to the thousands of men affected by cancer each year.

Online Clinic on Prostate Disease

From 25 November - 1 December 2011 two charities, Prostate Action and The Bob Champion Cancer Trust, have teamed up with NHS Choices and talkhealth to present an Online Clinic on Prostate Disease.

Clinical experts will be available to answer questions about issues surrounding prostate disease, treatments and also to provide you with valuable help and guidance.

Prostate Action is the only national charity dedicated to beating all three prostate diseases. Through funding research and education, they will improve the lives of men living today and help secure the health of future generations.

Prostate disease affects one in two men in the UK. 37,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year whilst 3.2 million men suffer with symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Prostatitis accounts for almost a quarter of visits to a urologist and predominantly affects men in their 30-50s. Men of all ages are being let down by the lack of research into prostate disease and poor levels of understanding and education. Prostate Action is here to change this.

The Bob Champion Cancer Trust was established after Bob Champion was diagnosed with cancer in two parts of his body at the height of his riding career. The dream that kept him going through the long months of chemotherapy that followed was that one day he might win the Aintree Grand National on Aldaniti. Against all odds, in 1981 his dream came true.

The interest and enthusiasm generated by racing’s greatest fairytale led to the foundation of the Bob Champion Cancer Trust in 1983. Since then the Trust has raised in excess of 12 million pounds. In 2000 in conjunction with the Institute of Cancer Research, the Trust opened the Bob Champion Cancer Research Laboratories in Surrey, creating the first male dedicated research centre in Europe.
