Paediatric Specialist Continence Nurse
Brenda has been Paediatric Specialist Continence Nurse for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board for the last ten years. In this role she looks after children with complex bladder and bowel problems. For some years now she has undertaken freelance teaching work, advising health care professionals how to manage children with constipation and soiling, daytime wetting and night time wetting. Some of this teaching work is via ERIC – Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence – the UK Children’s Continence Charity. She has just accepted the post of ERIC Nurse, a newly created role following a Department of Health grant. The main aim of the job will be to improve recognition of childhood continence problems and increase early intervention, working in partnership with North Bristol NHS Trust.
