Andrew is a Reader in Clinical Psychology in the Department of Psychology at The University of Sheffield. He is also a honorary Professor in Clinical Psychology at The University of Hull. He qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 1998 and initially worked in the adult mental health field, before focusing his clinical work in clinical health psychology. He currently provides clinical psychology interventions to NHS patients with a range of long-term health conditions including those affected by skin conditions. He joined the University of Sheffield as a clinical academic in 2001 and his research focuses on the psychological aspects of skin conditions. He is the lead for clinical psychology in dermatology in the Faculty of Clinical Health Psychology (a subsection of The British Psychological Association), acts as a psychological adviser to the The All Party Parliamentary Group on Skin, and regularly supports the work of The British Association of Dermatologists and The British Dermatological Nursing Group. He is an Associate Editor on the British Journal of Dermatology and a member of the editorial board of Dermatological Nursing.
