Dr Rachel Abbott

Consultant Dermatologist and Mohs surgeon - MBBS, BMEDSCI(HONS), MRCP (UK), MRCP (DERMATOLOGY) (UK)

Dr Abbott graduated from Imperial College, London in 2002 after also gaining an intercalated BSc in Medical Microbiology from Edinburgh University in 2001.

She undertook training in Dermatology at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London and at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff - including a Fellowship in Mohs surgery.

She was awarded a UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network Fellowship during her training and has co-authored several Cochrane reviews on topics including topical treatments for cutaneous warts, fumaric acid esters for psoriasis and light treatment for acne. She is currently principal investigator for two national skin cancer trials.

She regularly provides teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates and has a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.

Dr Abbott is on the specialist register and her interests include skin cancer and skin cancer prevention, skin surgery and general adult dermatology.
