Lindsey Middlemiss

BSc, Founder & Chair FibroAction

Lindsey Middlemiss is the founder and Chair of FibroAction, a national charity raising awareness of Fibromyalgia Syndrome (Fibro).

Lindsey has personal experience of how tough Fibro can be, having had Fibro herself since 2002 when she developed the condition after a whiplash injury. After struggling with the condition for some years, she managed to access effective treatments and get her Fibro under control. Lindsey set up FibroAction after experiencing first-hand how detrimental a lack of up-to-date, evidence based information can be.
Until recently the Information Manager for FibroAction, Lindsey was responsible for developing FibroAction’s information resources for many years and also worked with organisations such as NHS Direct and NHS Choices to help them update their information on Fibro.

Lindsey has spoken at medical conferences and patient events on Fibro and has been featured in or contributed to national and local newspaper articles, magazine articles and national and local radio features on Fibro, chronic pain, whiplash and expert patients.

Lindsey is married with 2 young children and lives in Berkshire.
