Mr Peter Greenhouse

MA FRCOG FFSRH, Consultant in Sexual Health

Peter Greenhouse qualified from Cambridge in 1979, trained in both venereology and gynaecology, and set up the UK’s first integrated sexual health centre at Ipswich in 1991. He moved to Bristol in 1999, rebuilding and integrating services there and in Weston. He lectures internationally on all aspects of women’s sexual health, particularly on Chlamydia, pelvic infection, Herpes, perimenopause and hormonal influences on recurrent genital infections.

Mr Greenhouse is vice-president of the International Society for Infectious Diseases in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (ISIDOG) and, as chairman of the British Association for Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH) Media Committee (2010-15), ran the successful campaign to change the cervical cancer HPV vaccination in UK schools to one which also protects against genital warts.

He is also medical advisor to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust and to the "Great Wall of Vagina" educational project.
