Sharon Holroyd

Lead Specialist Continence Nurse

Sharon is the Lead Specialist Continence Nurse for Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust. She qualified as an adult nurse at St Bartholomew's Hospital London in 1990. She has since completed specialist training in stoma, renal and urology nursing and also gained a children's nurse registration at Leeds University in early 2004. She teaches catheter and urology / continence courses nationwide and has worked at European Level producing guidelines for urological issues in nursing.

She is the current chair of the Yorkshire Branch of the Association for Continence Advisors (ACA) and has recently published 2 articles in health care journals relating to continence issues.

She is passionate about raising the profile of issues faced by people with bladder and bowel issues and is on occasion working with the Bladder & Bowel Foundation to support individuals via a telephone helpline service.
