Founded in 2000 with more than a million unique users each week Netmums is twice of the size of any other parenting site. The site hosts over 150 local websites, 2,300 bloggers and 500 national meet-up groups for mums, and is the only parenting site to provide professional support to its users. Each year over three and a half million parents are supported by Netmums specially trained teams of parenting experts, including staff from Relate, Women’s Aid and the Family Rights Group. The site also provides free one-to-one support for more than 30,000 of the UK’s most vulnerable mums each year.
The charity provides support to people with any anxiety condition, or specific phobia such as fear of spiders, blushing, vomiting, being alone, public speaking, heights - in fact, any fear that stops people from living their lives to the full.
MedicAlert is a global charity that provides medical ID jewellery for people with hidden medical conditions or allergies. Situated on the pulse points, it displays the international medical symbol to quickly identify your condition and speed up treatment in an emergency. Because every moment matters.
MedicAlert members benefit from peace of mind that goes far beyond their bracelet. Their conditions are reviewed by medically trained staff, who prioritise the text engraved on each piece of jewellery. A detailed medical record is also held in MedicAlert's secure database, which can be accessed 24/7 by emergency responders.
Mental Health Foundation
The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) is the UK’s leading mental health research and development charity. Since 1949 we have been working tirelessly to improve the lives of people affected by mental health problems, reduce the suffering caused by mental ill health and help everyone lead mentally healthier lives. Our work focuses on helping people to survive, recover from and prevent mental health problems.
We conduct ground-breaking research and evaluation and communicate the findings to government ministers, health and social care professionals and the public. We develop practical solutions for better services for people affected by mental health conditions and learning disabilities. Our high profile awareness campaigns and information work reach millions of people - changing attitudes to mental health and learning disability by tackling stigma and discrimination.
The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities (FPLD) is an integral department within the Mental Health Foundation. Through its work we help people with learning disabilities live their lives to the full by influencing government and local authority policies and services. FPLD is heavily involved in raising awareness of learning disability issues in order to break down stigma and is widely recognised in the sector for its innovative projects that challenge economic and social barriers.
We are the leading UK organisation with experience of dealing with both mental health and learning disability projects.
Mental Wealth Foundation
The Mental Wealth Foundation is a national charity established to promote positive student mental health and wellbeing in universities across the United Kingdom. Since 2009 the Mental Wealth Foundation has facilitated over 28 Universities across the UK to establish a national network of Mental Wealth Groups (MWUK), ran ‘by students, for students’.
Mind is a mental health charity who believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. Whether you're stressed, depressed or in crisis, Mind will listen, give you support and advice and fight your corner. They also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Rethink Mental Illness
Rethink Mental Illness is a charity that believes a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness. 40 years ago, one man bravely spoke about his family’s experiences of mental illness in a letter to the Times and in the process brought together hundreds to talk about their experiences of mental illness and support each other. Today we directly support almost 60,000 people every year across England to get through crises, to live independently and to realise they are not alone.
Our website and helplines give information and advice to 500,000 more and we change policy and attitudes for millions. Our services, support groups, and members cover every county in England, giving us local insight and helping us spread innovations nationally. All our work is governed by people who have lived through mental illness.
