Epaderm from Mölnlycke Health Care, is a rich emollient used in the management of eczema, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. Epaderm is highly versatile and can be used directly on the skin, in the bath or as a skin cleanser; providing complete emollient therapy in one product. It is suitable for all ages, including babies.
Developed by dermatologists, Epaderm has no fragrances, colourings or additives, and contains less sensitisers than other brands. It contains yellow soft paraffin, emulsifying wax and liquid paraffin, which deeply moisturise and soften the skin. Epaderm provides a film barrier, which aids moisture retention within the skin.
NHS FOUNDATION TRUSTS
Salisbury NHS Foundation
Salisbury District Hospital is managed by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and, as a Foundation Trust, reports to Monitor, the Independent Regulator.
The general range of services provided by the hospital is mainly commissioned by Wiltshire, West Hampshire and Dorset Clinical Commissioning Groups, although other neighbouring Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will commission our services from time to time.
The Trust is also a specialist regional centre for plastic surgery, burns, cleft lip and palate and genetics and provides a specialist service for people across much of southern England who have a spinal cord injury. The Trust has around 470 beds.
Action Against Allergy
A national charity founded in 1978, it campaigns for expert diagnosis and treatment to be available to all through the National Health Service and raises funds for vital research into the causes and treatment of allergic illness. Their ‘Find a Doctor’ service provides personalised advice on the nearest allergy specialist and membership benefits include an informative journal three times a year. In addition, information packs and leaflets covering the whole spectrum of allergy-related illness are available.
The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) is a charity whose objects are the practice, teaching, training and research of Dermatology. It works with the Department of Health, patient bodies and commissioners across the UK, advising on best practice and the provision of Dermatology services across all service settings. It is funded by the activities of its Members.
British Skin Foundation
The British Skin Foundation is the only UK charity dedicated to raising funds for skin disease and skin cancer research. This year the British Skin Foundation turns 20 years old, giving out more than £10 million in grants to over 300 research projects since 1996. As well as supporting research into diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and skin cancer, cases of which are unfortunately all too common; the BSF are also looking to find better treatments and eventual cures for conditions that may be less familiar such as vitiligo, ichthyosis and alopecia.
We are caring campaigners – caring and empowering in supportive, friendly, positive and inspiring ways, and campaigning in our education and advocacy work by being forthright, informed, counter-cultural and determined.
Psoriasis Shout Out®
The Psoriasis Shout Out® is led by Professor Chris Griffiths, Director of the Manchester Centre for Dermatology Research. The initiative aims to get people talking about psoriasis (what it is and what it isn’t) and to bring psoriasis patients together with professionals working in the field of psoriasis management and research. The overarching message is a positive one - it is possible to live well with psoriasis.
Skin Deep Behind the Mask (SDBM) is a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting sufferers of all types of skin diseases by helping to manage their condition and symptoms. It also aims to inform and raise awareness of the difficulties skin disease patients face and the impact it can have on their families and loved ones.
The Psoriasis Association
- To raise awareness about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis,
- To provide information, advice and support to those whose lives are affected by psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and;
- To promote and fund research into the causes, nature and care of psoriasis and to publish and disseminate the results of that research.
