Welcome to talkacne

Acne is something that is experienced by nearly everyone at some stage in their life. To label it as 'just one of those teenager phases' is firstly to undermine exactly the devasting impact this condition can have on some one of that age group; but also it excludes the growing numbers of people who are experiencing it for the first time in their adulthood.

talkacne aims to bring together a wide range of people with an interest in this condition, from the teenager through to the menopausal woman suffering from it, to organisations who provide support for those with acne. Support comes in many guises from the large pharmaceutical company who provides prescriptive medicine and major brand products, to small organic product suppliers, to those who provide emotional and pyschological support.

Currently we are unaware of any national (UK) based charity specifically devoted to support sufferers (and carers) living with acne, and therefore it is talkhealth's aim to try in part to fill that space. Each September we run an 'Online Clinic' on skin conditions, and this is where you will have the opportunity to discuss your condition directly with leading experts. We welcome and encourage anyone - from individuals to large organisations to contact us so that we can all contribute in providing knowledge, experience and invaluable support to those experiencing acne.
