Empowering patients to manage their IBS through research

The ContactME-IBS programme aims to empower patients by letting them know of relevant research that they might consider participating in. Registering with ContactME-IBS does not mean you have to participate in anything, only that you will be informed about it. Furthermore, your data is held on a secure NHS database and will never be divulged to an external agency; only the ContactME-IBS team will contact you (the exception to this is where your own doctor has registered you and they might contact you direct). Just by registering you can encourage more IBS research in the UK. Currently there are only a few clinical trials being run in the UK due to a perception that the NHS does not recruit well onto IBS trials. By creating such a registry we can encourage more companies developing new treatments to undertake their research in the UK. Thank you for getting involved.
