A new machine that filters air whilst you sleep and removes irritants and allergens such as dust mites and pet hair has been revealed.

The Protexo machine also produces a stream of filtered, clean air to the sufferer thus minimising allergic reactions enabling better sleep and reduced inflammation in the lungs.

The machine would cost £4000 per year per asthma sufferer and is currently unavailable for private purchase.

Experts are calling on the NHS to implement this machine to patients stating that it would actually cost less in the long run as it would reduce the amount of expensive medicines used and lengthy hospital stays.

What do you think? Should the NHS select severe asthma patients and supply the machine or should it be down to the individual to provide?
