Having completed the Fleet half marathon in March, my healthy eating has sort of gone out of the window! But, for quite a few reasons, today’s the day I’m getting back on track to lose weight, eat healthily and run more.
Firstly, I’ve dug out all my old slimming club stuff and I’m now writing down everything I eat – it’s the only way to see the truth behind the calories as we are all what we eat.
Secondly, whilst I never stopped running after completing the half marathon, I am running less. So after a random post on my local neighbourhood’s Facebook page my partner and I have set up a local running club. It’s early days but within 48 hours we’d attracted 40 members. We did our inaugural run last night. Even though it was pouring with rain, we had a great turn-out of almost a quarter of our members. Not bad for a club that’s a week old and we’ve not even had a formal meeting yet to set it all up properly.
Thirdly, I’m snoring!! Snoring and keeping my partner awake when we are together. I don’t snore every night, but when I do neither of us gets a good night’s sleep. I’ve read the usual ‘snoring’ solutions which include not drinking alcohol for up to 4 hours before bedtime, not smoking and losing weight. I do drink, but not every night and not much, I don’t smoke but I do need to lose weight.
Plus I want to be lighter when I run my next half marathon in October so I can complete it in a better time than the Fleet half.
Will keep you updated on my progress.
If anyone else is trying to lose weight then I’d be keen to hear what you are doing and how you are getting on. Plus come and talk in our talkweight forum and share what’s working and what’s not.
