Thanks to a crucial wee I am now at my lightest weight for over 10 years…10 bloody years! :-) :-)

When I went to Slimming World a good few years ago, I managed to lose just over 8st and went from 33st something down to 25st something…I couldn’t remember the ‘something lbs’ and so knew that as soon as I broke the 25st barrier, I would be at my lightest weight in over 10 years.

Now, for any of those amongst you who may feel that I am deluded – I am well aware that to be pleased to have broken the 25st barrier is rather amusing…as my weight is still bloody gargantuan – to use a word that the delightful Daily Mail often use to describe very fat people! ;-) However, to have been 43st 5.5lbs is pretty much off the charts…I am not sure that even the Daily Mail would have a word for this type of weight. Although I do recall them labelling someone ‘Britain’s Fattest Woman’…she weighed 40st and this was ironically reported in the same month that I joined Slimming World at over 43st…so this just evidences the level and depth of their investigative reporting! ;-)

Anyway, I digress. So yes, I appreciate that to be thrilled to weigh 24st 13.5lbs is amusing in it’s own little way – but for me, it feels pretty bloody incredible and I am rather proud of the fact that I am still losing weight despite the NHS professionals who deal with me telling me that I would never get this far.

As I drove to group this morning my mind was trying to calculate how much I might have lost! I knew that I had been on plan, and that my exercise level was the same as last week…so I anticipated losing a similar amount, which was 3lbs. This would have given me my 18.5st award and put me at my lightest weight in ages.

Bodies are weird and wonderful things though…and my fecker decided that a 0.5lbs loss was good enough. Not for me though – I was gutted! The numbers on the scale – which shouldn’t be important, but are – kept flickering and so I decided to get on with my signing-in desk duties and to try and squeeze a wee out and get back on those evil scales a bit later…and this is what I did. I was then rewarded with a 1lb loss! :-)

So whilst it wasn’t the shiny sticker moment that I had hoped for, it was nevertheless a proud moment for me to realise that my hard work has resulted in me seeing my lightest weight for years. Had you asked me if I thought this would have been possible when I joined Slimming World again back in February 2012, I would have said that it was impossible without the weight loss surgery I was convinced that I needed…yet here I am – no surgery, but losing weight and feeling great.

Group was good today. The girl I spoke to about the plan earlier on in the week joined – so that was great as I think she will love it. She got quite excited over the raffle prize – the ingredients for egg fried rice – and couldn’t believe that you could eat this sort of food. Pizza Lady was also on form…she was amazed at the syns in Chinese food and said that she ate takeaway at least once a week…but had no ideas of the syns she was having. She then wondered about gravy and how you possibly could work the syns out in it! ;-)

Sticking with the takeaway theme, there has been recent news that Slimming World have underestimated the syns in takeaway food – a chow mein used to be 7 syns on average and has now increased to 16.5 syns…so it really is better to cook from scratch if you can. We looked at syns in Blue Dragon sauces in group and they aren’t bad at all – they got me quite tempted actually, so I reckon a Chinese will be on the menu for the weekend!

A couple of ladies who normally attend another group joined us today. Neither of them are getting the results they want and they both admitted to not counting their syns. It turned out that one lady probably has about 15 syns in her gravy alone based on her method of making it, and said that she never counts gravy, mayonnaise, ketchup etc. These little things make a huge difference. Hopefully they will be able to make some changes this week. Even though the desire to lose weight was clearly there, they just weren’t doing what it takes to get the results they want.

And finally, my favourite lady in group managed to lose 2.5lbs this week. She won the new book in the raffle last week and went home and planned her meals using it. I was so happy for her…I really hope that she sticks with it.

Other than group, I had a couple of coaching clients today, fitted in an aquafit class, saw the horses, went shopping, cut Mr WLBs hair…and am going to relax this evening – I have last nights episode of ‘Revenge’ to watch!

Before I talk about my food for the day, I have to share the fact that Mr WLB has been driving me crazy this week with his tantrums about food. Maybe this is payback for all of mine. Obviously, I would love him to join me on my health kick…and you all know how much of a junk food lover he is. He caved in yesterday and ate 4 Mars bars…and today he added a stuffed crust pizza and 4 KitKat Chunky bars to that. However, I think the shine is fading from his junk food relationship, as he left this today…5…and has been complaining about how tasteless it was and that he didn’t enjoy it! Of course, I will be reminding him of that when he has another food tantrum later in the week! :-)

And here’s my food…

Breakfast: Bananas.1Lunch: Cup of butternut squash soup and burgers! (1 x HEA, 2 x HEB and 2 syns).4Dinner: Jacket sweet potato with cheese, cottage cheese, mixed beans and salad (1 x HEA).3Snacks: Velvet Crunch (24 syns).2A lovely food day. Brekkie was eaten after the scales turned in my favour! Lunch was in a split shift – a cup of soup before I headed swimming…as I didn’t want to sink…and the burgers were eaten post-swim. I absolutely love these burgers – Asda are on to a winner with them! Then it was a nice sweet potato topped with HEA cheese and cottage cheese, mixed beans and salad. Then it was my usual Tuesday six-pack…a naughty habit that I will grow out of…although it’s not that naughty as I am still eligible for extra syns! ;-)

Exercise: 30 minutes of aquafit.

WeightLossBitch

On a health and fitness driven journey to lose over 32st / 448lbs / 203kgs – yes, it is a considerable amount – I am committed to losing my excess weight without the aid of weight loss surgery, diet pills, or quick fixes…as there aren’t any! Changing my eating habits and building up my fitness levels, along with addressing the ‘head issues’ will be crucial in order for me to achieve my goal. Living in England as a 31 year old super morbidly obese woman can be challenging to say the least. I have been shouted at in the street and verbally abused far too many times to mention; hence the name ‘Weight Loss Bitch’…the day I am just called a ‘bitch’ instead of a ‘fat bitch’ will be the day that I know I have cracked my weight loss! With many reasons to lose this weight I am documenting my journey for a number of reasons. Firstly, I would like to keep a record of the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the challenges I face with such an enormous task to tackle. Secondly, I would also like to inspire and encourage other people who are in a similar situation and to show them that significant amounts of weight can be lost naturally…with a bit of motivation, hard work, dedication and will power. Thirdly, all of the blogging, Facebook-ing, Tweet-ing, Pinterest-ing and YouTube-ing keeps me occupied and keeps my fingers out of the fridge!
