Today has been as it says on the tin really – a day of good weather, good company, and lots to be thankful for. :-)

First up was a bit of thankful. I watched a video of a lady called Joanne Milne, who has been deaf from birth, hearing for the first time. It was amazing to watch – you can find it here if you want to take a look and haven’t already seen it!

Now I hate it when people tell you to be thankful and that there are people who are always worse off. Of course, this is true. Yet it doesn’t really offer much comfort when your life feels like shite…even if, to someone else, your life is a bed of roses. I have said this to people before though, and will say it again…as it’s true and can sometimes bring a self-pitying plonker into the real world! ;-)

So I watched this video and literally cried. It was just wonderful to see this lady hearing sounds for the first time in her life after a cochlear implant…so emotional. I take so much for granted – hearing the birds tweeting, hearing my horses neigh, being able to speak to a good friend. It’s nice to get a reminder like this…makes me feel thankful for everything that I do have.

I might not have a great house, or a job, or much money, or the body I want, or a car that doesn’t make strange noises, or a wardrobe full of nice clothes…but my life is looking up and I have wonderful friends and family…and Mr WLB of course! I am getting my health back on track and defying the medical professionals who said that I would never do this.

Take a bit of time to remind yourself how great life is right now – count your blessings and appreciate each and everything and everyone that you do have.

After I had composed myself – I was a wreck watching this video – we headed to Pilates. This was wonderful as usual. It’s also nice to see that I am progressing and getting stronger and able to work on some of the advanced moves after only a couple of months of sessions.

Then Mr WLB and I headed to Asda to grab food supplies for our planned BBQ. I was spending the afternoon with a chap from my uni course, and his friend. They were coming to help get our stable yard ready for the horses coming back – repairing the barn, repairing a roof, sorting out the electric fencing – so I wanted to keep them suitably refreshed!

So Mr WLB and I collect the guys and we headed to the stables. The sun was shining, the tea and coffee flowing, and they absolutely surpassed my expectations…so many jobs completed. They had a chuckle at our wonky fence posts – which Mr WLB, my Mum, and I put in last summer…the posts aren’t so wonky now! ;-)

They are fab guys – both of them have faced tough challenges and have turned their lives around. It is great to spend time with people who have worked hard to do this sort of thing. Really interesting people – I can’t wait to have them back over for a BBQ when they can just sit and relax and we can put the world to rights!

It’s just a quickie tonight as the fresh air has resulted in me yawning all evening…so I am heading off to bed to watch a film with my chap! :-)

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes.

20140329-191411.jpgDinner: Turkey and cheese salad rolls with fruit salad (2 x HEA and 2 x HEB).

20140329-191545.jpgSnacks: Wotsits (5 syns) and Baked crisps (5 syns).

20140329-195921.jpgAn okay food day – I just feel so hungry this evening though for some reason! Brekkie was scrambled eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes…nice and simple. Lunch was smoked river cobbler which had been cooked on the BBQ, with salad and roasted peppers. Dinner was a couple of wholemeal rolls with cheese, turkey, and lettuce…and some fruit. And my snacks were just grabbed from the cupboard as we forget to stock up at the shops today!

Exercise: 60 minutes Pilates and some mooching at the stables.

WeightLossBitch

On a health and fitness driven journey to lose over 32st / 448lbs / 203kgs – yes, it is a considerable amount – I am committed to losing my excess weight without the aid of weight loss surgery, diet pills, or quick fixes…as there aren’t any! Changing my eating habits and building up my fitness levels, along with addressing the ‘head issues’ will be crucial in order for me to achieve my goal. Living in England as a 31 year old super morbidly obese woman can be challenging to say the least. I have been shouted at in the street and verbally abused far too many times to mention; hence the name ‘Weight Loss Bitch’…the day I am just called a ‘bitch’ instead of a ‘fat bitch’ will be the day that I know I have cracked my weight loss! With many reasons to lose this weight I am documenting my journey for a number of reasons. Firstly, I would like to keep a record of the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the challenges I face with such an enormous task to tackle. Secondly, I would also like to inspire and encourage other people who are in a similar situation and to show them that significant amounts of weight can be lost naturally…with a bit of motivation, hard work, dedication and will power. Thirdly, all of the blogging, Facebook-ing, Tweet-ing, Pinterest-ing and YouTube-ing keeps me occupied and keeps my fingers out of the fridge!
