Today, as many of you will know, is Back to the Future day. The day Marty McFly and Doc Brown travelled forward in time on 21 October 2015 in the film Back to the Future.

This iconic film is being discussed on  the TV and radio and is in all the newspapers today. Back to the Future has a cult following with fans celebrating all over the world.

Micheal J Fox, who played Marty McFly, made his name as an actor in this movie for which he won an Emmy Ward.

What's the future of health?

Sadly, in 1991, Michael J Fox was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease but didn’t make it public knowledge until 1998. He retired from acting in 2000 as the symptoms of his condition became worse. Since his retirement, he has become an advocate for the disease in a quest to find a cure, and has set up a foundation in his name.

Listening to Chris Evans on Radio 2 as I drove to work this morning got me thinking about life, Michael J Fox, Parkinsons disease, and perhaps how it’s a good job we don’t know what’s ahead of us in the future, particularly in relation to our health.

Or is it?

I wonder what medical advances we will see over the next 30 years.  If you could look into the future, what medical advances an innovations would you like to see in 2045?
