The British Association of Skin Camouflage

Our aim is to help reduce the psychological, physical and social effects that skin conditions and scarring can have on people’s lives by the simple application of specialised skin camouflage products.  We were founded in 1985, as a direct result of requests to train private as well as NHS personnel and to create a national support association for professionals through which our principles, skills and new techniques could be shared.

The British Association of Skin Camouflage (BASC) is considered to be the main source of information and educational material for people interested in skin camouflage.  Different brands of camouflage have different textures, consistencies and sun-protection properties, and some stay on the skin longer than others.  This means one product may be better than another for a certain type of skin condition and match the person’s lifestyle.

We are an independent association run by dedicated professionals who volunteer their expertise.  Our articles of memorandum do not permit us to sell products, neither do we run clinics – although our graduates work independently of us, we are proud of the part they play in helping others to face the world, with confidence.
