Ms Maria Kyrgiou
Ms Kyrgiou is a Consultant and a Senior lecturer in Gynaecology and Gynaecologic Oncology at Imperial College London. She has trained in obstetrics and gynaecology and subsequently specialised in advanced minimal access surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) and gynaecologic oncology at the West London Gynaecological Cancer Centre at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She completed a masters of science in advanced gynaecological endoscopy at the University of Surrey and a PhD thesis.
Dr Kyrgiou has expertise in general gynaecology and gynaecology oncology. More specifically she has expertise in the management of cervical, vulva, endometrial and ovarian pre-invasive and invasive disease and has led research investigating the impact of their cervical treatment on reproduction. Her main clinical interest is general gynaecology, colposcopy/vulvoscopy, gynaecologic oncology, ovarian cysts, fertility-sparing surgery for gynaecological malignancies, endometriosis, fibroids, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, rapid access services for suspected cancer and surgery for benign and (pre) cancerous gynaecological conditions (ovary, endometrium, cervical, vulval).
