Action Against Allergy
Action Against Allergy provides information, advice and support to those made chronically ill through the many different forms of allergy and those who care for them. Campaigning for expert diagnosis and treatment to be available to all through the National Health Service.
Their ‘Find a Doctor’ service provides personalised advice on the nearest allergy specialist and membership benefits include an informative journal three times a year. In addition, information packs and leaflets covering the whole spectrum of allergy-related illness are available.
Allergy Academy is an initiative of King's College London and was formed as a response to the shortcomings in Allergy education highlighted by the House of Lords report into UK Allergy Services.
The aim of the Academy is to deliver high quality educational opportunities and provide a broad based, comprehensive programme that will serve the full range of people who are currently demanding it – patients, parents, nurses, dieticians, general and specialist physicians.
The Academy programme is focused on offering practical courses which will help develop the practice of the large number of different health care professionals who deal with allergic patients every day.
MedicAlert is a global charity that provides medical ID jewellery for people with hidden medical conditions or allergies. Situated on the pulse points, it displays the international medical symbol to quickly identify your condition and speed up treatment in an emergency. Because every moment matters.
MedicAlert members benefit from peace of mind that goes far beyond their bracelet. Their conditions are reviewed by medically trained staff, who prioritise the text engraved on each piece of jewellery. A detailed medical record is also held in MedicAlert's secure database, which can be accessed 24/7 by emergency responders.
