Re: For the experts...

Thank you for this reply Dr Kerbel its very honest. Its such a shame though for a doctor to care and understand thyroid disease that they have to have had the disease themselves or someone close to them has had to deal with it.

Training to become an endocrinologist

Hi Doctors,

Training to become an endocrinologist takes 10 years miniumum if im not mistaken ? 5 Of those years in med school touch only the basics of endocrine ?

Do you not feel it would be better to maybe have less years in training but to focus more on the endocrine system ?

Re: Bone loss density and T3

Hi Ipman, "You really need to establish a benchmark now for future comparisons." - This was my arguement but of course not listened to. "Incidentally if the endo is so sure that you are going to suffer 100% bone loss, has he/she given you any advice about how you might compensate for ...

Bone loss density and T3

Hi, My endo refused to do a Bone loss and density scan even though i am on T3 only replacement therapy. His reasoning were that because my dose is high 92mcg that i would 100% have bone loss so it is therefore pointless. I dont understand his answer. Could you give some explantion ?

Re: Debilitating hypo symptoms - what needs addressing first

Dear Miss T I am sorry you are having such a tough time. Your current TSH levels are well suppressed in the normal range (<2) suggesting you are on the correct dose of levothyroxine 125mcg. It is particularly important to have normal TFTs in pregnancy as recent evidence has shown abnormal levels ca...

Re: Adrenal/ Thyroid issues :Advice needed please.

You are probably on too low a dose of thyroxine. Hypothyroidism can be associated with adrenal impairment which corrects itself when the T4 replacement is adequate. Increase the T4 dose and recheck thyroid function in 1 month Could you please prove this with a case study, or medical studies ? I am ...
