Re: Post surgery scar

You may find that although Bio oil softens your skin it may not flatten the scar. There is no harm in using Bio oil. If the scar is raised or itchy or growing beyond the original scar site (post op site) you may want medical intervention in the form of prescription topical or injection treatments.

Re: Abdominal Surgery

Yes it is possible to improve the appearance of scars. Dermatologists and Plastic surgeons can use a variety of modalities to improve the appearance. Yours may be amenable to steroid injections. Please see a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon for an opinion.

Re: Nappy Rash

Nappy rash can be quite bothersome. I would recommend you see your GP to ensure your child doesn’t actually have Eczema or Seborrhoeic Dermatitis- these conditions give a “nappy rash” like appearance but need prescription medication to properly treat. Re: KP & children

Thank you for your question. Keratosis pilaris is a very common condition that is harmless; most management is around smoothing the feel of the skin for a personal preference rather than to treat/ cure the condition. For this reason, I’d recommend using moisturisers that contain salicylic acid or ur...

Re: 3 year old - spotty skin

Thank you for your question. Recurrent spots on a 3year old could be a number of things. It would be impossible to recommend management without knowing the diagnosis. I would recommend taking photos of the spots when they arrive and what they look like as they fade. Keep a note on whether the spots ...

Re: Weather affecting my skin

Hi! Our skin takes a real battering from the elements during the winter months. The best way to protect sensitive skin is to use cleansers and moisturisers that restore the skin barrier and smooth the skin. With cleansers, look for ingredients that lack SLS which can dry the skin out too much. You c...
