Re: Why are people "just left"

I am very disappointed by the forum, legitimate questions are being ignored and patients dismissed as ‘having a rant’.

Re: Why are you failing us again?

I think it has actually been very cruel to offer suffering patients a ray of hope and then to crush them by leaving most questions unanswered.

Re: Why are people "just left"

My daughter told me about this forum. I offered to have at look at posts for her as my gut instinct was that it would be a waste of time, distressing and unhelpful for her to read the posts based on her awful experience with the NHS. Sadly that is certainly the case. Most questions are not being ans...

Re: TSH - Why it's useless!

All the NHS TSH tests done on our extended family have certainly been a waste of time and money, all they have been used for is to deny treatment. In other countries the TSH is used in conjunction with T3, T4, antibodies and symptoms. NHS doctors in my experience do not even bother to examine their ...

Re: Why did the NHS refuse to treat my daughter?

Yes we did complain but it was a futile exercise, all they did was close ranks and quote the guidelines i.e. they will not treat until the TSH gets to 10. As far as the NHS is concerned my daughter is not a person, she is just a number, a blood test result.

Why did the NHS refuse to treat my daughter?

My daughter was refused treatment by the NHS and told by the endocrinologist that they only treat once the TSH reaches 10. Her TSH went from 4.4 to 6.8, her FT3 and FT4 were well below the reference range and she had all the classical symptoms. From being sporty and active and coping well academical...

Re: How can this suffering be ignored?

She sounds exactly like my daughter, her FT3 and FT4 were well below the reference range and her TSH went from 4.4 to 6.8. We have a family history of thyroid problems but the NHS refused to treat her, saying that according to the guidelines they only treat when the TSH gets to 10. She was unable to...
