Re: Does it get better or worse?

I wish I could give you an easy answer, but it's impossible to know with asthma. Mine has gotten better and worse at times. I've had asthma since I was a child and am now in my 30s. In some ways, my asthma is better now, because it's under control. However, I take more medications now than I did whe...

Re: please help me find a treatment for my partner

I'm sorry you're so frustrated, though I can see why. It's hard to see someone you care about, as much as you clearly do, suffer. I think you've pinpointed the problem. He doesn't apply his creams. Without the proper and consistent application of creams, it's impossible to control eczema. It also so...

Re: Dry itchy skin around lips - getting worse

Hi Annie, One thing you said about using only natural skin care and lip balms struck me. I'm really careful about my skin care and lip balms, because a lot of them contain allergens and irritants, like nuts oils and peppermint respectively. Perhaps using something very innocuous like a vitamin E oil...

Re: Is it the contraceptive pill or am I just unlucky?

Hi Imogen. First, I've been through all the emotions you're going through and I think it's really important that you get some support. I highly recommend that people with atopic conditions like eczema and multiple allergies see a psychiatrist or psychologist. There is some evidence that depression i...

Re: How to get through everyday life

Part of the frustration you're having sounds like it's because everything is so new to you. I've had eczema since birth; so, I've had a lot of time to develop my "normal". There will come a point when you know what your triggers are and can avoid them and you will have a new "normal&q...

Re: Eczema and the pill

I haven't experienced this with the pill. However, atopic dermatitis can be tied to hormones, especially in women. I've included a link to an NHS article which discusses hormonal changes as a trigger. It's definitely worth a discussion with your health care provider. http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Ecz...

Re: make up and eczema

I use NARS presently which doesn't aggravate my atopic dermatitis, but I don't think it's necessarily the best option. Though, if you haven't tried it, usually a make-up counter will give you a sample of their foundation to try it out. I've also used Glo Minerals which is free of a lot of irritants ...

Re: I've had it for so long, I just want to get rid of it no

I'm in my mid-30s and I've had eczema since birth. The best advice that I can give you looking back is to keep using your treatments. There is no cure and some days your skin will be better and some days it will be worse, but the best thing you can do is use the treatments. However, especially with ...
