HIV and sharing needles
I’m in my early 60s and have recently met the most lovely man. He’s been very honest with me and told me he was a heroin addict when he was much younger. We haven’t slept together yet but it’s on the cards and I’m worried that I could be vulnerable to HIV infection as I’ve read that it can be transf...

Re: TVT FOR STRESS INCONTINENCE- IS IT SAFE?
cheshirecat, thank you for the update. It's good to hear about the research you're doing on this and get the various perspectives from others. As you say there are probably many people who have no problems from this operation at all and have their lives transformed but it's always worth knowing what...

Re: What time of day do you feel your worst?
Millie1 I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling especially in the afternoons. Like you I've never been able to take a nap in the afternoons but there are many times that I could curl up and do it now!! Have you seen the doctor about this? Are you on HRT? Sometimes this can help relieve these kinds...

cheshirecat - thank you for letting me know that you've moved the post into the continence forum under bladder problems. I will keep an eye on this for any further information since I too am very interested in this topic.

Re: What time of day do you feel your worst?
I am definitely at my worst around 6/7 pm in the evening. I tend to feel exhausted, hormonal and very irritable. Maybe it's due to the disturbed nights catching up with me at that stage of the day or that my energy levels are low because I haven't eaten but I will often find that a glass of wine wil...

Re: Osteoporosis
I wouldn't hesitate to go onto HRT. I went through early menopause and it has helped me with my symptoms and as you say is advisable for helping prevent osteoporosis. I don't intend staying on it after I'm 50 and at that point I will have to have regular bone density checks. There's lots of informat...

Re: Relationships menopause and husband problems
Judy JJ - I totally agree with you that you have to talk to your partner about how you're feeling as you do change in the menopause both from a mood and sexual point of view. I have tried to explain to my husband what I'm experiencing over the years and although it has helped there are often times w...

Re: Weight and the Menopause
I've been struggling with this problem for years. I've never been petite and I like my food but could always loose a few pounds here and there if I needed to. However I don't seem to even be able to do this anymore. Even though I exercise it doesn't shift and I then tend to just be hungrier so eat m...

Re: Insomnia
The sleep issue is another horrible symptom of the menopause, I just can't stay asleep .... waking, tossing and turning, not getting comfortable....sweating ....... this is awful. .... there isn't much else I can say, except that you're not alone.
