Re: Benovate cream - mental health children

Sorry to hear that and if you're worried, can monitor the potency of the steroids used. Just google steroid potency chart and see. benovate is not so potent, medium. Zeroderma (without the plus version that has steroid) is just moisturizer. Am not sure if it's the steroid that's linked to mental hea...

Re: New eczema symptoms - burning

Sorry to hear that and it does sound serious. It could be quite a few different conditions/complications from lifelong eczema.. hope you can get a dermatologist appointment soon. If you start to feel feverish or muscle weakness, may even want to go emergency. Hope you get some relief soon, take care.

Re: Eczema Triggers in my own House - HELP

Sorry to hear of the flare-ups! Pollen could be a reason too. You can take an allergy test, to figure out your top allergens, and from that list, see what has to be eliminated. Hope you find the triggers soon, take care!

Re: Symmetrical Eczema on Each Hand

Sorry to hear that and there're quite a few possibilities for the rash so I suppose seeing a dermatologist will help give some answers. The symmetrical could be in touch with something that causes allergy - your spouse's ring? In the meantime, would a rash cream/ mild hydrocortisone work? Hope you f...

Re: How many ointments did you use?

Hi!
Being a chronic illness, it's unlikely to be an instant success.. takes some time to figure out which cream, and regularly visit dermatologist to monitor skin and prescribe safe creams. Take care!

Re: Best creams and make up for eczema

Hi! My daughter is the one with eczema, and as the staph bacteria really colonizes her skin, we use a moisturizing anti-bacteria wash like Octenisan. Dove's range for sensitive skin is another brand she can use :)

Re: Trembles after scratching.. is it normal?

Hi! I haven't heard of that nor had my child experience that.. not sure if it's stress but I think monitor for bacterial infection, and maybe try something like watching sign language video to de-stress and keep the fingers occupied? Helped my kid when she was at age :) Take care.. and I suppose it'...

Re: using chlorhexidine gluconate skin cleanser

Yes! We were recommended to use that when my child was 7 month old. Now at 12yo, she's still using an anti-bacterial cleanser - we use Octenisan now as it's more gentle. But before this, we used to have chlorhexidine on facial wipe and just wipe down the skin to reduce staph bacteria. Great that you...

Re: Dealing with a teenager

So sorry to hear that.. If it's infected (reddish, feels warm or oozing), have to see doc and get antibiotics. Cos the eczema skin is easy to be colonized by staph bacteria, we soak in solution to reduce bacteria on alternate day, and use daily antibacterial wash cleanser. And mild steroid lotion to...

Re: any recommendations for a humidifier UK

Hi! I don't live in the UK but I think it's more of the humidity level than the humidifier.
If too dry, moisture be stripped from skin and too humid, promotes growth of mold.
Somewhere around 50% I think, take care and best to your son!
