Re: Tips for Dealing With Adult Acne
Thanks for sharing your experience. I've also heard a lot of good things about jojoba oil. It contains many of the same fats that normally occur in the skin. And it's supposed to be anti-inflammatory, so not surprised it helps.

Re: Acne and dehydrated skin
Sorry about my late reply. Haven't been here in the past week. The paper is tiled "Sebaceous gland lipids" and you can find it here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2835893/?tool=pubmed Scroll down a bit until you see this subheading: Sebum Alterations in Acne. You might also w...

Re: Contraceptive pill
Sorry to hear about your experience coming off the pill. It can correct some of the hormonal issues that contribute to acne, but it's not a permanent solution (nothing is really). I just wrote a detailed post about drug-free ways to get rid of acne to my blog here. I figured it's a question that kee...

Re: Adult Acne
@Gbloom, that might have been my comment. At least I usually bring it up when people talk about benzoyl peroxide. It's not a deal breaker, but something you should be aware of when using BP. On a related note, I just published a mammoth of a post to my blog here. It's covers basically everything you...

Re: Oil on acne???
Ouch, that seems really expensive. There's nothing that special about castor oil, so it shouldn't be that expensive. I also had to go through many pharmacies here in Thailand to find it. But it was dirt cheap when I did find it.

Re: Oil on acne???
Castor oil expensive? That's the first time I heard it. Have you checked your local pharmacy? You might be able to find it from there. At least here in Thailand some pharmacies carry it.

Re: Treat from inside out or outside in?
Yes, all acne is hormonal to some degree. Hormones cause excess sebum production and inflammation in the skin. BC pills can normalize the hormonal issues for some women, and that cuts down lot of the causes behind acne.

Re: PCOS
Being a guy I have no personal experience with this, but I know from research that PCOS and acne often go together.

Re: Oil on acne???
This thing goes by the name 'the oil cleansing method'. Google it and you'll find plenty of info. I think there is some merit to it as the oils in the acne-prone skin are often oxidized. Adding some 'healthy' oil to the skin could actually help. I've tried it a few times myself, but I'm too lazy to ...

Re: New research on thyme
I'm not sure what research you are talking about? Perhaps you have a link (if you still remember it after such a long time). I found only one study, here: https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/jgam/55/1/55_1_63/_pdf While that study is interesting, I wouldn't get too excited yet. There's a long way f...
