Re: DID and Complex PTSD no treatment available.

I am sorry you are suffering and it appears you have not been able to access the right treatment for you. There is treatment available but it is a question of what is available in your area. In the first instance I can recommend a book "Recovering from Trauma using compassion focused therapy&qu...

Re: coming off Dosulepin (previously called dothiepin)

Hello Pollyanna
I would recommend discussing coming off the Zopilcone with your GP and also the issues from coming off the Dosulepin too quickly last time and see if you can work out a suitable regime with the GP that is more gradual.

Re: Anxiety? Panic Disorders?

Hello I saw from the time of your posting that you were awake into the early morning hours so I am also wondering if your sleep pattern has been interrupted for a while - this can impact on your anxiety levels. It is worth going and having a chat with your GP. I can recommend hypnotherapy for anxiet...

Re: Lapses

It is early days and I would look at your sleeping pattern and apetite and if they are affected at the moment. It is ok to go back to your GP and discuss this and perhaps have some counselling to support you through this time. Also endings in relationships are not easy so it is ok to acknowledge thi...

Re: depression with self harm and primary teaching

Hi
Yes your quality of life is very important and I would go back to your Gp and discuss how you are feeling. They may recommend going back on the medication for a while and some CBT.This will help.

Hi Poppysnowdrop. I understand your fears and I would tell your psychiatrist this tomorrow. I am sure they will be able to offer some good advise and support.

Re: Depressed and homesick

I am sorry you are feeling so low today. I would advise you go and talk to someone at university today and let them know how desperate you feel I would advise you see the GP there too. I would also plan when you are going to see your family next and perhaps for the first few months have some regular...

Re: getting a 2nd opinion

You are certainly entitled to a second opinion although I appreciate if you are living in a rural area you may have to travel a bit further. Perhaps if you visit your GP with this concern and request with a family member to support you. I cannot advise regarding medication or diagnosis but I would c...

Re: losing hope

I agree with Dr Friedman. I am sure some further CBT would be beneficial. Also mindfulness and meditaiton have been shown to have some positive effects. You kmight want to explore Professor Jeffrey Shwartz's work and his book "Brainlock2 is worth a read, as is Frederick Toates's book 'OCD' I ca...

Re: phobia health anxiety

I agree with Dr Jackson. Phobic anxiety responds well to CBT.
You might also want to have a look at Anxiety UK's website for some information also. www.anxietyuk.org.uk
