Re: Stomach Problems

I can understand your worry, Jayne. This is not your father’s usual pattern. He is losing weight and becoming fatigued. He is not well and it sounds as if he should be admitted to hospital for urgent investigation and treatment. I don’t think you should be waiting any longer. Please impress on his d...

Re: CT Bowel Scans

No. If you need a bowel scan, your doctor and specialist are the best to advise and then follow you up with any treatment you might need. Private bowel scans are expensive and do not usually offer any follow up. And if you take the result to your doctor, they are most likely to repeat it.

Re: Bladder infection & IBS

Unfortunately, the menopause can often be associated with an increase in physiological and emotional tension, causing a variety of symptoms. You say you had a hysterectomy. This can often bring on other pelvic symptoms involving the bladder and the bowel. If they removed your ovaries as well, your s...

Re: How do I manage my bloating?

What has changed to make you bloated. Bloating is often due to a combination of something that is causing emotional tension and a change in diet that contains a lot of gas producing foods. You may find that a diet low in gas producing foods (low FODMAP diet) might help (see http://www.theibsnetwork....

Re: Urgency

Ask yourself what has changed/ The most likely thing is that somehting has happened to upset your bowels? If that is the cause, bring that back to mind and try to deal with that situation or use mindfulness techniques to help to think about it and find the optimal solution. The next possibility is t...
