A pathway for fibromyalgia is something we have been pushing for for years. Last year a pathway was published on The Map of Medicine which is accessed by GPs, written by The British Pain Society with input from ourselves and medical professionals. There should be a rheumatologist, neurologist or pain specialist in your area but your local support group is the most likely source of this information. We know the private clinic specialising in FM is closed because of the death of the consultant.

It is recognised that Fibromyalgia is often coupled with other long term conditions. This makes it even more difficult to determine what actually is causing any particular symptom. I would add that your local support group may know of a supportive GP or at least where to get a good referral to a consultant.

I would just like to add that you should let your doctor know what you are going to be taking and to try only one new one at a time or you will not know which one or combination is working for you.
