Re: colours in medicines

Dear Neil I'm sorry you have this problem as it must be so very difficult for you especially with antibiotics. I don't understand why colouring is added either but my problem is most medications I take have lactose in as a filler and I can't consume dairy. Nothing compared to your problem. Surely in...

Allergy to spray analgesia

Hello. This is probably more common than I know, but I react very quickly to certain medications. Aspirin based meds give me asthma, and I get nasty rashes with penicillins. But worse are the analgesia sprays like deep heat etc. which give me huge wheals wherever the spray touches and my blood press...

getting older and more and more reactions

Hello all, I am getting a bit older now (over 60) and as time has gone on I have developed asthma which I never had as a child or younger adult. I have chronic sinusitis which gets worse when I eat anything with say chocolate in or a similar substance. I have also developed sensitivity to cleaning p...

Re: Upper back pain,any ideas ?

Hello DottyLotty, I am so sorry you are experiencing upper back pain, it must be horrible for you. I suggest you do what the talk health people say and see your GP and get an X-ray done to eliminate anything serious. I had the same problem a couple of years ago. I saw the GP and he said he couldn't ...

histamine in foods

I wondered if high levels of histamine in foods are causing me a problem? It seems from reading lists of histamine foods, It is the higher level foods that I react to with upper respiratory problems. This really curtails my diet as I am gluten and dairy intolerant too.

Re: Problems with garlic

Thank you Dr Lyman for your reply. My GP isn't very Interested in my allergies as they don't result in anaphylaxis or something similar. This would mean I'd have to go private which is something I can't afford. I do think an allergist would be the way to go. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Re: Wasp and mozzies etc

Hello fellow sufferer, I have noticed over the past few years that every time I am bitten by a mozzie that I have the same reaction and tend to feel unwell for a couple of days. I take cetirizine and use creams to help the reaction but to little effect. I like you am dreading the summer days and bei...

Problems with garlic

I don't know if anyone on talkhealth has a problem with eating anything containing garlic but I seem to react every time I eat anything with it in. I told the asthma nurse but she said she hadn't heard of anyone with this allergy. I have other food and medication allergies alongside this. This list ...

using cleaning products

Hello all, I seem to have a problem with sinus pain and sore throat every time I clean the home. I try to use the weakest of products I can buy but still have the same problem. Is this due to a chemical I am using? I have tried using white vinegar with baking soda but doesn't seem to solve the probl...
