Re: DLA application
Dolphinmum, my diagnosis was originally M.E and I was initially turned down for DLA but I appealed against the decision, had a home visit from a doctor from Medical Support Services and was then awarded the benefit. I realise that it is now too late to appeal the decision on your original claim but ...

Re: Lack of treatment
Hi Helen, the pains in your legs sound similar to mine, I feel as if someone is smashing my shin bones with a sledgehammer. As well as taking painkillers I use epsom salts in the bath and then have arnica oil massaged into my legs. I then find wearing stretchy compression bandages for a few hours he...

Re: Shaking hands
Thanks for your reply Dr Shepherd, unfortunately as I live in N. Ireland I have no access to M.E specialists but Iwill ask for a referral to a neurologist. Housemouse, I find that compression bandages help my arms and legs, easing both pain and muscle spasms but I never thought about doing this with...

People constantly remark on this and tease me about drinking which I don't do. I've also got worsening ...

Re: Symptom Phases including insomnia
I don't have any answers for you housemouse but just wanted to let you know that I also experience this especially where insomnia is concerned. For 2 or 3 days every month I could sleep the clock round and then the insomnia kicks in again

Re: Is ME infectious?
With regard to the well documented case of the Royal Free Hospital outbreak, I developed M.E while working in an NHS hospital in 1996. At this time several members of staff throughout the trust, from admin to nursing were off sick with an undiagnosed condition. The husband of a colleague who worked ...

Re: Pain medication
Hi Dolphinmum, is your GP saying that he can't prescribe pregabalin or that the pharmacies don't stock it? The reason I ask is because I get pregabalin on prescription from my GP and have no problem getting it at my local pharmacy. I'm in N. Ireland so I don't know if things are different here.
