Re: Can you suddenly develop an allergy to dairy as a teenag
Dear Kaye
This is a very complex situation and I think that in order to answer that question, you are best of getting a referral to a paediatric allergist.

Re: ?allergy to paprika
Dear Izabella This is probably a very controversial answer, but paprika is considered moderate to high in salicylates which can cause a flare in some children with particularly eczema. I am not suggesting all high salicylate foods - but the amount in paprika may just be a trigger. Most spices such a...

Re: Multiple reactions to foods but negative allergy tests?
Hello Many children have multiple reactions to food despite negative Skin Prick tests. This is often very difficult to manage. Do you have access to some specialist help such as a Peadiatrician or an Allergy Specialist Dietitian. We often end up admitting some of these children to observe feeding in...

Re: What else can I do?
Dear Isabella Are you totally avoiding milk from your little one's diet? What about the formula - some formulas may be more helpful for persistent/difficult to treat eczema than others. Are you still feeding him - if so - what about your own diet. I find that avoiding egg and soya (despite negative ...

Re: Baby allergic to wheat milk egg slow weight gain
Hello This is a very tricky question to answer and one should never ignore the problem of slow weight gain in infants. 1. Vomiting to Avocados can potentially become more severe 2. For slow weight gain certain formulas may be better 3. For multiple food allergies and weaning advice in an 8 month old...

Re: Increasing food allergies
Dear Emily We are now seeing more and more adults with food allergies relating to Eosinophilic Eosophagitis - to food involved in this can be the major food allergens, but also commonly in adults fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables are a particular problem in adults with grass and birch polle...

Re: Eczema on Hands
Dear Sparrowhawk Thanks for getting back to me. If your latex allergy test was negative and you eat foods cross-reacting with latex without a problem (which you do), then I agree, it is highly unlikely that food allergies are involved in your hand eczema. Thanks Carina Venter Allergy Specialist Diet...

Re: Eczema on Hands
Hi Sparrowhawk You mention that your hands seem to get worse when you wear rubber gloves - have you been assessed for latex allergy? Do your lips swell when you blow up balloons? Have you ever had an itchy mouth, tingling/swelling of lips or tongue when eating avo, banana or potato? What happens whe...
